Hi! I’m Sacomayo, who have lived in Tokyo for more than 15 years.
I am a travel blogger, and writing the travel review both domestic and abroad based on my experience.
This is my first post which is written in English, and I will start to spread the charms of Tokyo or Japan for the foreigners who are thinking to visit Japan in this blog.
As I am not the native English speaker, please let me know if my English is wrong or doesn’t make sense.
Today, I will introduce Yoyogi Park as the cherry blossom season is approaching, and also, I would like to introduce the Tomigaya area, which is now getting popular among young fashionable people in Tokyo.
Let’s go to Yoyogi Park and see cherry blossom!

Yoyogi park is one of Tokyo’s largest city parks featuring wide lawns, flower beds, ponds and forested areas.
It is a great place for jogging, picnicking and other outdoor activities.
Sometimes we encounter cosplayers taking photo each other or dancing and singing to the music.

As we can have alcohol in the park while picnicking, it is nice cherry blossom viewing spot in spring.
Furthermore, it is known for its ginko tree forest, which turns golden in autumn.
The season of cherry blossom is now approaching, so lots of people will come to have hanami (cherry blossom viewing) with their friends, families or co-wokers.
Why don’t you come and enjoy a picnic viewing cherry blossom?!
P.S.
Now it is nearly fully bloomed! (as of 27 March 2019)
There are a lot of people enjoying cherry blossom viewing !!
Tips
If you want to join Hanami (cherry blossom viewing) in Yoyogi Park, you should bring rugs or mats to sit on.
Also, as there is no restaurant or convenience store in the park, you have to buy some foods and drinks out side the park beforehand.
